about 2 years ago – Tue, Apr 19, 2022 at 04:41:25 AM

DC DBG fans,

We were ready for things to slow down a bit over the weekend, but we actually had LOTS of new backers join. Welcome, everyone!

As we kick off the second week of the campaign, we are thrilled to see so many old and new fans. We love hearing what you all want from the DC Deck-Building Game series. Even if we can’t do EVERYTHING you suggest, we are listening and definitely looking to the future, beyond this campaign. Stay tuned for an update about Promo Cards later today.

Now, let’s check out the next series of KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE stretch goals… all for Injustice, our latest base set and at the center of this campaign.

Ready to shout out, “SHAZAM!” and transform into Earth’s Mightiest Mortal? When we hit $425k over the weekend, you unlocked 1 Kickstarter oversized Character and 1 Super Move card: Shazam! and the Power of Shazam!

Next up: Let’s get to $440k to add 4 Kickstarter cards, including Atlas Torpedo.

Lastly, at $455k, you’ll unlock 3 Kickstarter Nemesis cards: Injustice Hawkman, The Flash, and Spectre!

Thank you for your support,

The Multiverse Just Got Even Better
about 2 years ago – Sun, Apr 17, 2022 at 04:07:10 AM

DC DBG fans,

As we start the first weekend of the campaign, a big thank you to everyone for your support and for helping us spread the word. We are blown away by your passion!

Many of you have been asking about stretch goals for the new Multiverse Boxes, so these next two are for you. (Please note: You’ll get these stretch goals regardless of which Multiverse Box you get; and if you get both, you’ll get these stretch goals in each box.)

At $390k, you’ll unlock the Components Box for the Multiverse Box. Featuring images of three iconic Super-Villains by artist Omar Francia, this box is designed to hold tokens and other miscellaneous items in your DC Deck-Building Game collection! It measures approximately 3.93” x 3.14" x 2.36".

Coming up when we hit $400k are 2 Kickstarter oversized Locations for the Multiverse Box: Dark Multiverse and Injustice Metropolis.

Last but not least, at $410k, you’ll get a Kickstarter oversized Character for Crossover Pack 9: DC Bombshells (which is now included in every tier).

Have a great weekend!

Introducing Injustice Impossible Mode!
about 2 years ago – Fri, Apr 15, 2022 at 06:56:53 AM

DC DBG fans,

This campaign is celebrating the past of the DC Deck-Building Game, but more importantly we’re looking toward the future. The pandemic interrupted our plans for the series, resulting in no new releases in 2021. But this year, DC DBG is back and a big part of that is Injustice! We’ve been working on this latest big box game for over a year and we’re really proud of it. Many of the stretch goals in this campaign will continue to add new features and exclusives for the game.

That leads us to our latest stretch goals, which unlock a new way to play Injustice! DC Deck-Building Game veterans are already familiar with the Impossible Mode Super-Villains included in Crisis expansions. These Super-Villains have higher costs, more powerful effects, and more devastating attacks. Fans of Impossible Mode know they shouldn’t get too attached to their cards. With Injustice, we decided to go a different route with Impossible Mode.

The first of these additions is the Clash cards. These cards are shuffled into the main deck and immediately resolved when added to the Line-Up. Most of the Clash cards cause unexpected attacks against all players. Some of them offer you the opportunity to spend your Meter to avoid the Clash card’s negative effect or gain a bonus. These cards add more unpredictability and a real touch of mayhem to your Injustice games! You’ll get 8 Clash cards when we hit $355k and another 7 when we get to $365k.

The second addition is the KO’d token effects. In the standard game, you receive a KO’d token worth -3 VP when your health is reduced to zero. These tokens reduce your score but don’t impact your momentum. When playing Impossible Mode, in addition to the VP you lose, you also resolve the effect on the back of the KO’d token. Most of the KO’d tokens cause the KO’d player to gain Weakness cards or discard/destroy their cards. Some will instead give the attacker a bonus. These KO’d tokens add more incentives to attack other players and avoid damage. KO’d token effects will be added when we reach $375k.

Tell us what you think about this new Impossible Mode in the comments!

Thanks for your support!

That’s a Big Box!
about 2 years ago – Fri, Apr 15, 2022 at 06:05:37 AM

DC DBG fans,

Our momentum keeps going strong! Thanks to all the backers for their support and lively comments… you have all been awesome.

Some big announcements:

1) DC DBG Infinite Tier: We have listened to your comments and we’re adding the 6 DC DBG rulebooks to this tier to go with the 6 base set Multiverse Editions! No need to get them as an add-on!

2) Dark Nights: Metal Multiverse Divider: Fans who purchased the first printing of the game received plastic dividers that had the set label at the bottom of the divider, instead of the top. This was fixed in reprints, but for those who received the initial divider, we will be offering free replacements. We are going to print more once we go into production on everything for the Kickstarter, and we’ll post an update on how you can get your replacement divider.

3) Our next stretch goal: At $340k, you’ll unlock 2 Kickstarter cards for Rivals!

How Big Is That Multiverse Box?!

As Day 3 gets underway, we wanted to share something pretty cool: a white box factory sample of the new Multiverse Box! This box has nothing printed on it, but gives us a sense of the structure of the box and things that can be improved before we go into production. It also let us see how much we could squeeze in!

First of all, our estimates on the main page are right on: 540 sleeved cards and 5 dividers can fit in each row and the wider fourth row can potentially hold 520 sleeved oversized cards (if you put nothing else there). We put in ALL cards and tokens for all the base sets and expansions, including placeholders for Injustice and the new Rivals, and everything fit pretty snugly IF we left out some of the Starter cards. So you should be able to squeeze in your whole collection in one box potentially, but if you want to future proof, you’ll need two boxes.

We should also point out a full Multiverse Box is SUPER HEAVY. We couldn't make it any bigger without sacrificing structural integrity and causing injuries. Check out a photo and the video of one of our game designers struggling to lift it.

Do you think you’ll be able to lift it? You should probably start lifting weights now!

Thanks for backing!

A Bombshell Announcement!
about 2 years ago – Thu, Apr 14, 2022 at 10:15:45 PM

DC DBG fans,

Are you excited for Day 2? We are! First of all, several of you have requested to be able to choose WHICH Multiverse Box you get for the Welcome to the Multiverse Tier. Let’s make it happen! When you finalize your rewards via BackerKit after the campaign, you’ll be able to choose which Multiverse Box you get. (We can’t update the text in the actual reward tier, but we will update the graphic.)

The next four stretch goals will unlock something brand new… Crossover Pack 9: DC Bombshells! You can add this expansion to any base game to play as iconic female Super Heroes as they join the Allied forces in World War II. Use the new Bombshell Attack cards to unleash explosive effects that help you to victory! The cards feature incredible art directly from the comics. Please note: All DC Bombshells stretch goals will be included with ALL TIERS.

At $225k, you unlocked 2 oversized Characters, 11 cards, and 1 Rules card for DC Bombshells! The oversized cards are Wonder Woman and Zatanna.

At  $250k, you unlocked 2 oversized Characters and 10 cards for DC Bombshells! The oversized cards are Mera and Batwoman.

Up next: When we hit $275k, you get 2 oversized Characters, 10 cards, a Randomizer card, and 1 Multiverse Divider for DC Bombshells. The oversized cards are Stargirl and Supergirl.

And when we get to $290k, you’ll unlock the Kickstarter Exclusive box for DC Bombshells. Crossover Pack 9 will NOT be available by itself outside of Kickstarter (at least in English). So this is your only chance to get it in a solo box (it will only be available at retail inside of a future Crossover Collection).

Thanks for your support!
