Latest Updates from Our Project:

Track Your Health in Style!
almost 2 years ago – Fri, May 06, 2022 at 05:43:23 AM

DC DBG fans,

One week to go in the campaign! First of all, by popular request, we will be allowing you to select which playmat you want in the "Welcome to the Multiverse" Tier! (Our reasons for not doing so earlier still hold--slower fulfillment and potentially more errors and customer service issues--but we'll deal with it.) We will update the graphic soon.

Now that you’ve unlocked the Super Heroes components box, as promised here are some renders of the two components boxes and how they will fit inside the Multiverse Box!(There’s also an updated image on the main page with a different angle,)

Note: Not all these cards and dividers come with the Multiverse Box. This is a render of what your collection could look like when stored inside.

Add a Layer to How Your Play

The latest stretch goal is a big one. Once we hit $750k, your copy of Injustice will be upgraded to include 4 dual-layered Health Track tiles, 4 wooden Health markers, and 4 wooden Charge markers. All of these components are Kickstarter Exclusives! They can be used to replace the Health Track oversized cards, as well as the regular Health markers and Charge markers (though you’ll get those too).

Each 6” x 4” tile has a lower layer with numbers for health and for the Charge Meter. The upper layer has cutouts so you can place the wooden markers to track your health and Charges.

Two New Promo Packs!
almost 2 years ago – Thu, May 05, 2022 at 01:28:05 AM

DC DBG fans,

Throughout the campaign, many of you have requested more general content that works well with any set (instead of cards designed mainly for specific sets). We’ve been working hard to deliver! Today, we’re happy to introduce two new Promo Packs:

  •  Character Promo Pack featuring four oversized Characters: Lobo, Supergirl, Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz), Solomon Grundy.
  •  Nemesis Promo Pack featuring five Super Heroes and Super-Villains: Red Hood, King Shark, Starfire, Hawkgirl, Raven

The cards feature the art of the incredible Omar Francia. Check out the card images at the end of this update (art and text not final)!

How do you get these packs? You have two options:

  1.  DC DBG Infinite Tier OR DC DBG Infinite + Promo Pack Tier: Both these tiers now get these two Promo Packs for free!

  2.  Character Promo Pack and Nemesis Promo Pack Add-ons: You can add $10 to your pledge now to cover one of these Promo Packs or add $20 to cover both (you’ll select them via BackerKit after the campaign). OR you can pay for and select these adds-on via BackerKit later… though funds collected in BackerKit don’t help unlock stretch goals.

KOs with Lasting Effects!
about 2 years ago – Wed, May 04, 2022 at 02:07:29 AM

DC DBG fans,

First of all, check out the new stretch goals graphic at the top of the page! We want prospective backers (and current backers) to see all the cool stuff you’ve unlocked so far in a really clear way. We’ll keep updating this graphic and the individual stretch goal graphics (with unlock amounts) further down on the page.

We have nearly 1000 results to our latest survey about non-standalone expansions… thanks for all the feedback!

Here’s the rundown of what you own:

  •  Crisis Expansion Packs: Crisis 1 (over 80%), Crisis 2 (75%), Crisis 3 and Crisis 4 (around 65% each)

  •  Crossover Packs: Justice Society, Legion of Super-Heroes, Birds of Prey, and New Gods (around 70% each); Arrow and The Rogues (around 65% each); and Batman Ninja (over 50%)

Your favorites:

  •  Crisis Expansions Packs: Crisis 2 (29%), Crisis 1 (27%), Crisis 3 and Crisis 4 (around 14% each)

  •  Crossover Packs: The Rogues (18%), Justice Society (15%), Birds of Prey and Watchmen (13% each), Legion of Super-Heroes and New Gods (9% each), Batman Ninja (8%), Arrow (less than 4%)

Nearly 90% of you want more Crisis Expansion Packs (very good news). Your least favorite Crossover Pack is Arrow by a country mile. This is not a big surprise since many fans do not like the use of live-action images (we probably won’t be doing that again for a DC DBG set!).

In terms of what you want to see in the future for Crossover Packs, there were some amazing ideas. Ones that we saw a lot in the surveys and in the comments: Young Justice, Batman/TMNT, DC Animated Universe (Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League, etc.), Harley Quinn animated series, Doom Patrol, Arrowverse (but with comic book art), Kingdom Come, and Superfriends.

We will definitely look into most of these possibilities. We can't always get the rights and assets for some properties/shows/movies. Stay tuned!

Next Stretch Goal

As we work our way to $700k, we’d like to reveal the stretch goal for when we reach $720k: 5 additional KO’d tokens with Ongoing effects for Injustice! As a reminder: When playing Impossible Mode, in addition to the VP you lose when your health is reduced to zero, you resolve the effects on the back of the KO’d tokens.

Thanks for backing!

What’s Your Favorite Expansion?
about 2 years ago – Tue, May 03, 2022 at 05:22:50 AM

DC DBG fans,

Happy Monday! We had a solid weekend with another unlocked stretch goal and lots of new backers (welcome!). We also saw some great conversations in the comments about DC DBG, Peacemaker, the Arrowverse, and much more! We just want to thank everyone for the sense of community–many of you will answer questions from new backers before we can… it makes our lives easier!

As we kick off the last 10 days, we’re working on some surprises for later this week and ways to spread the word even more. More will be revealed soon!

Today, we’d love to get your thoughts on DC DBG non-standalone expansions currently released: four Crisis Expansion Packs and eight Crossover Packs. Which are your favorites? What would you like to see in the future?

Take THIS SURVEY to tell us and then sound off in the comments about why you like your favorites and what you want to see in the months/years to come.

Thanks for backing!

In Brightest Day, in Blackest Night…
about 2 years ago – Sat, Apr 30, 2022 at 03:46:57 AM

DC DBG fans,

Happy Friday! Thank you everyone for another amazing week of the campaign filled with great conversations and stretch goal unlocks!

Before we reveal the next stretch goals, we have the results of the Rebirth poll with nearly 700 responses:

  • 37%: Create small expansion packs that are sold directly by Cryptozoic. (Ideas include new Scenario Packs, Character/Standee Packs, Location Packs.)

  • 28%: Create full expansions, even if they take the place of an expansion for the core (non-Rebirth) game.

  • 18%: Just do reprints of the original game.

The rest of the comments (about 17%) were mainly pleas NOT to do more Rebirth mixed with some suggestions to do another Rebirth big box game, requests to increase compatibility with core DC DBG mechanics, and offers to help us create more Rebirth content.

Given this feedback (and how more than 30% of you absolutely want no new Rebirth content), it seems like smaller expansion/booster packs that we sell directly are the most likely next step; please keep in mind nothing is concrete yet and nothing is imminent… it will take us a bit of time. Fan reactions and sales will continue being determining factors.

Now, on to the stretch goals!

Our next stretch goal at $650k takes you deep into space… for 3 Kickstarter Nemesis cards for Injustice, including Injustice Green Lantern.

This card is a new starting Nemesis that can be used in Injustice or any other DC DBG game. A few of you have asked about the term “Nemesis,” so quick explanation: Since Injustice is all about heroes becoming villains and characters all fighting each other, we wanted to have a mix of Super Heroes and Super-Villains as playable characters and in the "Super-Villain" stack. Since it's confusing to refer to the Super Heroes in the Super-Villain stack as Super-Villains, we went with Nemesis as the collective term for both.

Once we get to $670k, we’ll make some additions to the Multiverse Box rulebook: a section about how to integrate Injustice (and Dark Nights: Metal) into Multiverse mode, as well as a glossary of all key terms that have appeared in DC DBG releases in one place!

Thanks for your support,
