One Last Add-on… Poll Results!
almost 2 years ago – Thu, May 12, 2022 at 12:53:15 PM

DC DBG fans,

One more update! First of all, for new backers: Info about add-ons, shipping, and final stretch goals can be found in our BIG UPDATE from earlier today.

Results from the poll are in… over 700 responses!

  •  2 Dual-Layered Health Track tiles and wooden tokens: 70% of you wanted this add-on (6% did not want them and 24% did not care). So we have added it as an add-on! If you want it and want to help unlock the final stretch goals, you can add $5 to your pledge now.

  •  Adding foil to oversized Anniversary Kickstarter Backer card: 74% of you wanted the foil (5% did not, and 21% did not care). So this card will be foil, if unlocked.

Thanks for your input, and keep spreading the word about the campaign!

Two Days to Go… New Social Media Stretch Goal and Much More!
almost 2 years ago – Wed, May 11, 2022 at 01:15:39 PM

DC DBG fans,

Yesterday was our biggest day since the very start of the campaign! Thank you to all the backers for their support and continued feedback… we value it always. It’s hard to believe, but we are down to the last couple of days. Don’t worry: We’re not done yet!

If you want to do add-ons: Please see yesterday's update.

Before we get to the fun stuff, we thought we’d address the foil discussion one last time. We understand some of you have strong objections to foil for assorted reasons (which we don’t need to summarize here). We also know that many of you want foil cards and see it as a value add, something to make the Kickstarter versions extra special. We aren’t going to try to convince anyone that they’re right or they’re wrong.

However, we do think there may have been a bit of a misunderstanding about the nature of the foil; these cards will not look like the Metal cards from Dark Nights: Metal. The foil is going to be very subtle and it’s mainly oversized cards that are getting foil treatment. We thought we’d share a short video of a foil version of Orion from Crossover Collection 1 (which many of you will be receiving this week) and the non-foil version of the same card. Legibility is not an issue in the foil version and the card back is indistinguishable (it does not have foil treatment). The effect is a slight bit of depth to the art... again, super subtle. The foil version is on the right.

Social Media Stretch Goal #2

By popular demand, we have another social media stretch goal. If this stretch goal is unlocked, we’ll add one special card to all Kickstarter copies of Injustice (it’s not specific to Injustice though).

So how do you unlock it? Well, last time you blew the goal out of the water, so this time we are going to make it more challenging! Here are the three conditions:

  •  Facebook: 450 likes of this post (and we’d love it if you feel comfortable sharing too)

  •  Instagram: 300 likes of this post (and we’d love it if you feel comfortable sharing too)

  •  Twitter: 200 retweets of this tweet

Three Stretch Goals

Just a few stretch goals left!

When we reach $875k, the oversized Character cards for the DC Bombshells Crossover Pack will be upgraded to foil! (Given the love/hate relationship to foil, let us note that this is the last foil stretch goal.)

At $900k, you’ll get 2 Kickstarter Arena Cards for Injustice: Oa and Arkham Asylum.

Last for today: When we get to $925k, the Kickstarter version of Injustice will be upgraded to 5 players with the addition of a Starter deck (10 cards)! We know many of you have asked for this, so we are thrilled we could make it happen!

Thanks for backing!

How to Do Add-ons, Plus a Different Batman Is on the Way!
almost 2 years ago – Tue, May 10, 2022 at 05:55:50 AM

DC DBG fans,

We had a HUGE weekend, with lots of new backers. In fact, it was our best weekend of the whole campaign, which is pretty amazing! Thank you to all the backers for the lively discussions… it has been lots of fun. With just three days to go in the campaign, we should have a rush of new backers tomorrow. So please be very welcoming.

There have been some questions about add-ons, so we thought we’d provide a bit of a guide.

The add-ons in this campaign are the items in the “Add-ons” section of the main page. You can see the cost of each add-on next to its image. IMPORTANT: You can also add multiple tiers as add-ons (multiple of the same tier or different tiers).

So, if you know the add-ons you want, HOW do you actually pledge for add-ons? There are two options:

  •  Option 1 (preferred): Click on the tier you pledged for and manually add funds to cover all the add-ons you want. For example, if you want the Nemesis Promo Pack and Character Promo Pack and they aren't included in your tier, you would add $20 to your pledge. Later in the pledge manager (powered by BackerKit), you will select the specific add-ons you want, applying these extra funds you pledged. This is preferred because funds added during the campaign help unlock stretch goals; any funds added in BackerKit do not count toward stretch goals.

  •  Option 2: Select and pay for add-ons in the pledge manager after the campaign. Again, the downside is that the extra you spend on add-ons doesn’t help unlock stretch goals.

Since some of you have asked, you CAN also add to your pledge now to pay for shipping based on our estimates, if you’d like. Please note that final shipping could be slightly higher or lower, so you’d either need to pay for the remainder in BackerKit (if it’s more) or request a partial refund (if it’s less). The main advantage of this is again helping unlock stretch goals, but it's fine to pay for shipping later too.

Next Two Stretch Goals!

The next stretch goal at $825k is a Kickstarter Exclusive! Once unlocked, all 17 oversized Character cards in Injustice will be upgraded to foil! It’s just one more way the version of the game in this campaign will be special. (Please note: The Batman Who Laughs card will also be upgraded to foil.)

AzBats is coming! When we reach $850k, the Multiverse Box will get two exclusive Kickstarter cards: Batman (Jean-Paul Valley) and Catman.

Thanks for backing,

Foil Cover and Behind the Scenes: Injustice Cover
almost 2 years ago – Sun, May 08, 2022 at 04:23:17 AM

DC DBG fans,

Wow, you are amazing! You totally shattered that social media stretch goal. Right now, we have over 320 likes on Facebook, nearly 200 likes on Instagram, and over 130 retweets on Twitter. Please keep liking and sharing those posts/tweets!

So what is the mystery card you unlocked? He’s a twisted Dark Universe version of the Caped Crusader who previously starred on the cover of a DC DBG base set… The Batman Who Laughs!

This card will now be included in each Kickstarter copy of Injustice! It’s designed to work with any DC DBG release (it’s not specifically designed for Injustice).

Foil My Box!

We thought you’d like one more stretch goal before the weekend. It’s one that we hope will make the Kickstarter version of the Injustice box (with exclusive cover) even more special. Once we reach $800k, the cover will be upgraded to foil! All the logos on the cover will be given an eye-catching red foil treatment.

Injustice Box Art

Since we’re already on the topic of the Injustice box, we thought we’d give you a behind-the-scenes look at how the art was created.

We worked with the amazingly talented artist Well-Bee on the cover, and he totally nailed it. For the Kickstarter version, we wanted something minimalist that focused on the intimidating nature of Injustice Superman. We wanted extra attention to Superman’s eyes, with the threat of heat vision.

Well-Bee started out by trying some different sketches (yes, even his sketches are in color), but we landed on something closer to the initial concept. Follow the process below!

Social Media Stretch Goal!
almost 2 years ago – Sat, May 07, 2022 at 05:28:42 PM

DC DBG fans,

Less than one week left in the Kickstarter! Since many of you have asked, Crisis Collection 1 and Crossover Collection 1 and all the related Promo Cards just arrived in our office (link to our website for all those items). The first wave should ship out on Monday! It will take us a little bit of time to get everything shipped due to the large number of preorders. Once preorders go out, we’ll add everything to our eBay page, so international fans can order directly from us.

As we head into the last weekend, we have something special: a social media stretch goal! This will help us spread the word and get even more backers before the end. If this stretch goal is unlocked, we’ll add one special card (with a fan-favorite Character) to all Kickstarter copies of Injustice.

So how do you unlock it? You need to help us meet these three conditions:

Hopefully, we can unlock it by Monday morning!

Introducing Confrontation Cost Tokens!

The next stretch goal opens up some fresh gameplay possibilities: Once we reach $775k, you’ll unlock 12 Confrontation Cost Tokens for the Multiverse Box!

Please note: You will get 12 tokens (4 with cost 9, 4 with cost 12, 4 with cost 15). This image shows all the unique faces of the tokens.

These new tokens allow you to play with ANY oversized Characters in a Rivals or Confrontations game. Players start the game by drafting their stack of 3 Characters and deciding which one will be on top of their stack. The tokens are stacked next to your Character stack with 9 on top, then 12, and 15 on the bottom.

When you defeat your opponent's Character, they remove the top Character from their stack from the game and you gain the top token of their cost stack. Flip the token over to show the VP on the back and place it in your score pile. When your first Character is defeated, you will choose which of the remaining two becomes your new active Character.

Not only does this add more variability to your Rivals and Confrontations games, but it also provides additional strategies as you craft a stack of Characters that will really synergize!

Thanks for backing!
